Internet TV research

Compare IPTV providers and internet TV services

Find the right kind of service for your country, channels and devices. Start with documented options, then test your own viewing needs.

Internet television includes paid live-TV bundles, sports services, free streaming catalogues and subscriptions that supply access to a compatible player. They are not interchangeable. YouTube TV, Sling, Fubo, Philo, NOW, DAZN, Kayo, Pluto TV and Tubi are the initial documented shortlist below; this is not an exhaustive market list or a popularity ranking.

Published by 8K Strong, which also sells its own IPTV subscription. These comparisons are editorial: we do not sell or represent the third-party services listed here. We use provider documentation, not invented customer ratings or paid subscription testing. Sources checked .

TV bundles

YouTube TV

United States

Live-TV packages with local-channel lookup by ZIP code and cloud recording. The main bundle and narrower packages have different lineups.

Before choosing: Confirm your home-area channels, the actual package, renewal amount and any sports add-ons.

Sling TV

Check the US offer for your location

A choice of base packages and channel extras. Orange and Blue carry different channels, and simultaneous-stream allowances depend on the package and channel.

Before choosing: Compare the channels you need, local availability, extras and stream limits before comparing the headline price.

Fubo

US, Canada and Spain; different country lineups

A live-TV service with sports-oriented packages. Its country editions are different products; a US channel listing does not establish Canadian or Spanish coverage.

Before choosing: Start with your country edition, then verify the channel and plan needed for your competition or programme.

Fubo country availability ↗

Philo

United States and supported US territories

Entertainment-oriented paid packages, with a separate free-channel offering. Package inclusions and optional add-ons should be checked separately.

Before choosing: Look up your must-have networks, paid versus free access, recording terms and location eligibility.

NOW

This reference covers the UK offer

Separate memberships for entertainment, cinema and sport, with optional playback upgrades. Minimum-term and flexible offers can have different cancellation conditions.

Before choosing: Choose the membership you need and include the minimum term and any Boost upgrade in your total.

Sports

DAZN

Country-dependent sports service

DAZN operates across many markets, but its event library and schedules differ by country and change over time.

Before choosing: Find the event on your local DAZN service and check whether it needs a subscription, separate event purchase or both.

Kayo Sports

Australia

A sports service whose help centre states that viewers must be in Australia to use it. An Australian sports interest does not establish overseas access.

Before choosing: Check your event, supported device and local access before considering a subscription.

Free streaming

Pluto TV

Check the catalogue and device support in your country

Free live-style channels and on-demand viewing through supported apps and the web. Its channel schedule is a different proposition from choosing a particular paid network.

Before choosing: Browse the local guide and supported devices; do not assume every advertised channel is available in every market.

Pluto TV viewing options ↗

Tubi

Supported markets and devices vary

A free, ad-supported streaming option. Tubi says its free service does not currently have an ad-free option.

Before choosing: Search the local catalogue and check the app on your exact TV or streaming device.

Compare your requirements, not just the channel count

Use the same questions for each service. One missing must-have programme can outweigh a large catalogue of channels you will never watch. A feature listed in one country or package may not apply to yours.

  1. Location: Can you subscribe and watch in your country? Check home-area, travel and account requirements in the local offer.
  2. Actual content: List five channels, shows or competitions you need. Verify the required package, language, event rights and replay availability.
  3. Device and app: Check the exact TV or streaming-device model. A provider’s own app is a different workflow from loading a playlist into a media player.
  4. Household: Confirm simultaneous screens and location restrictions. Installing an app on several devices does not establish permission to watch on them all at once.
  5. Real total: Record the first bill, renewal amount, required add-ons, tax or fees and any minimum term. Use the current provider offer; we do not freeze promotional prices here.
  6. Evidence: Test a normal viewing session where a trial or free service is offered. Keep unresolved questions separate from confirmed features.

A useful starting point is our free-trial checklist and bandwidth calculator. These help you compare a setup; they do not guarantee service quality.

Provider comparisons and general IPTV guides

Is a player app an IPTV provider?

No. A player handles playback and, where supported, playlists, programme guides and account connections. TiviMate’s developer documentation identifies it as a media player that does not supply content. Paying for a player upgrade does not buy a separate TV subscription. TiviMate’s terms.

Use the M3U versus Xtream Codes guide when a source supplies access details for a compatible player. For a service with its own viewing app, follow that provider’s instructions instead of expecting an M3U URL.
